Rachel Hopkins

Rachel Hopkins

LPC, CRC

Rachel provides evidence-based, relationship-centered therapy for children, teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, grief, life transitions, and challenges with relationships, emotional regulation, and change. Therapy with Rachel goes beyond simply talking about what is difficult, helping clients develop practical skills for communicating more effectively, understanding and managing emotions, navigating change, and building healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Her approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT skills, and specialized training in DIR/Floortime and working with neurodivergent clients. Together, these approaches support clients in developing greater psychological flexibility, understanding and regulating emotions, identifying what matters to them, and taking meaningful action even when difficult thoughts or feelings are present. This developmentally responsive approach considers not only symptoms, but also how each client learns, communicates, connects, and experiences the world. Treatment is tailored to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a predetermined model of therapy.

Areas of Specialization

  • Anxiety and Depression
  • ADHD and Neurodivergence
  • Grief and Life Transitions
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Relationship Challenges
  • Navigating Change

Rachel believes collaboration with schools and counselors, physicians and pediatricians, fellow therapists, and other professionals involved in a client’s care is a valuable part of creating thoughtful, coordinated support. This collaborative approach allows therapy to account for the different environments and relationships that shape a client’s day-to-day experience while maintaining an individualized, bespoke therapeutic alliance.

Rachel’s goal is to offer therapy that is compassionate (without being passive!), a little fun, and practical without losing sight of the whole person. Clients are supported in recognizing their strengths, developing tangible skills, increasing flexibility in the face of difficult experiences, and creating meaningful changes that extend beyond the therapy room.
