Megumi (Meg) Omonishi, Ph.D.

Dr. Omonishi provides individual and family psychotherapy with adults and adolescents. She also provides parents (caregivers) coaching to improve parent-child interaction and manage children’s behavioral problems. In addition, she offers psychological assessments to examine academic, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. She is bilingual in English and Japanese.

Dr. Omonishi’s major research area is in stress management, trauma, and meditation.

  • 2003 M.S. in Counseling Psychology from University of Central Arkansas
  • 2000 B.A. in Sociology from Southern Arkansas University
  • 1997 B.A. in Literature from Kansai University, Osaka, Japan

Prior to joining A New Start Counseling Center, Dr. Omonishi completed her internship at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

Her leisure activities include Latin dance and playing basketball.
