Dr. Lewis received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994, and is a licensed psychologist. He works with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing significant emotional problems (e.g., depression, anxiety/panic). He also works with people who are struggling with anger management issues, and with behavior problems in children (e.g., aggression, defiance, ADHD). He provides couples/family therapy to couples/families that are experiencing significant conflict and communication problems. Dr. Lewis provides psychological evaluations for ADHD, and screening evaluations for learning disabilities, which can help avoid costs of unnecessary testing. He was previously the director of the Southwest Georgia Regional Evaluation Team, which offered consultation to community service agencies and juvenile courts in a 24 county region. He served as the psychologist for an inpatient psychiatric unit for children and adolescents who were experiencing severe emotional problems (e.g., Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia). He was an adjunct supervisor of clinical training for graduate students in the psychology program at Valdosta State University. While working in the previous inpatient and evaluation positions, he worked part-time at the Tallahassee Pain and Stress Management Institute, primarily providing individual psychotherapy for adults, and couples therapy. Dr. Lewis has spoken at schools, churches, and other community settings about many of the above issues. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (770) 461-9944. |
