I am a Georgia Licensed Psychologist, practicing since 1994. While I have worked with individuals of all ages in outpatient and inpatient settings, my favorite work environment is private practice. My current work with cancer patients and individuals with other chronic or terminal illnesses is a primary focus of my practice. Not only do I have clinical training related to addressing the psychological aspects of illness, but I am also personally a cancer survivor. I see both individuals with medical illnesses as well as work with their family members in addressing the stresses and challenges of illness. The second focus of my practice is helping individuals or families to develop insight and find effective resolutions related to situations which have resulted in anxiety, depression, family turmoil or divorce. Working with adolescents who are having difficulty navigating the world between childhood and adulthood is the third focus of my practice. I received my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, with a specialization in health psychology. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Virginia with a double major of psychology and economics. I have been in practice at A New Start Counseling Center (115 Habersham Drive, Fayetteville, GA) since 2000. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (770) 461-9944. |
